International workshop Linking Environmental Quality Standards and Passive Sampling

Research Centre for toxic compounds in the environment supported by the project RECETOX NETWORKING prepaire workshop on 3. and 4. July 2013. The workshop regarded of connecting quality environment standards with passive sampling. The organisators dr. Branislav Vrana and Foppe Smedes with 33 invited experts in ecotoxicology and passive sampling from 12 EU countries, Canada and USA discussed in closed sessions how Environmental Quality Standard values relate to results obtained from passive sampling and vice versa and clarified where passive sampling fits into the schemes that are currently applied for assessment of the chemical and ecological status of water bodies under the Water Framework Directive.
